CINDY IS SCRUBBING THE FLOORS WHILE HUMMING A TUNE TO HERSELF. ANASTASIA AND DRIZELLA ARE SKIPPING AND DANCING ON THE FRESHLY SCRUBBED FLOORS. LADY TREMAINE IS WALKING DOWN THE STAIRS.
LADY TREMAINE:
(TO CINDY) Oh my goodness, look at these filthy floors. (STOPS ON THE SECOND TO LAST STEP) Cinderella, I know I told you to wash these floors! Come on now! (WALKS IN FRONT OF CINDY WHILE CINDY SCRUBS TO COVER WHERE LADY TREMAINE HAS WALKED) What is wrong with you! (SHE IS BEING OVERTLY MEAN)
CINDY (Cinderella):
(SCRUBS FOOTPRINTS) I’m sorry stepmother, I will get it done as soon as possible.
ANASTASIA:
(MOCKING CINDERELA) I’m sorry stepmother, I’m just work too slow to get it done in time.
DRIZELLA:
(ADDING ON TO THE INSULTS) Yeah I am just too focused on my stupid science experiments to notice what’s real and what’s fake!
(THE STEPSISTER LAUGH LOUDLY BETWEEN THEMSELVES. LADY TREMAINE LETS OUT A TINY CHUCKLE. THE DOORBELL RINGS AND THREE INVITATIONS SLIDE THROUGH THE MAIL SLOT)

(THE TWINS RACE TO GO GET THE PIECES OF MAIL AND SEE THAT THEY ARE INVITATIONS TO THE KINGS BALL)

(ECSTATIC) It’s an invitation to the King’s Anniversary Ball!!
DRIZELLA:
It’s three invitations to the King’s Ball! One for me, One for Ani, and one for… CINDY???! (SHE STARES AT THE INVITE IN DISBELIEF)
(BOTH CINDERELLA AND LADY TREMAINE GASP/EXPRESS DISBELIEF AT THE SAME TIME)
LADY TREMAINE:
(SNATCHING THE INVITE OUT OF DRIZELLA’S HAND) Let me see this. (READS PART OF THE INVITE OUT LOUD) Dear Cindy, you are invited to the King’s Anniversary Ball. Come celebrate with the entire kingdom, blah blah blah.
CINDY:
(GETTING UP TO LOOK OVER LADY TREMAINE’S SHOULDER TO SEE THE INVITE) Oh my goodness! We’re going to the ball
LADY TREMAINE:
(CLEARING HER THROAT) Alright, alright. (CLAPPING TWICE TO CATCH THE ATTENTION OF THE TWINS) Okay! We have a long day ahead of us! We have to get fabric; we have to call the seamstress!!
Cinderella, you stay here and finish your chores and maybe if you finish everything early, you may meet us at the outlet. I will send a car for you at 5pm sharp.
CINDY (Cinderella):

(SHE RUSHES TO HER ROOM* AND CHECKS OFF HER CALANDER. SHE REALIZES HER BIRTHDAY IS ON SUNDAY)
It really has been three years since the incident. Wow. (STARTS SINGING SONG 1* AND FINISHES HER CHORES BY THE END OF THE SONG)

Finally, ugh, take these! (SHE HANDS THE BAGS TO CINDERELLA. THEN SHE CLAPPS TWICE TO CATCH THE ATTENTION OF THE TWINS) Our ride is here.

Wait, stepmother, I thought that I would get to shop with you guys at the outlet! You said if I finish my chores by 5. I finished everything and I got here by 5—
LADY TREMAINE:
(CUTTING HER OFF) I said you could meet us at the outlet, not shop with us! That’s absurd! Girls! (CLAPPING TWICE TO CATCH THE ATTENTION OF THE TWINS) Our ride is here.

But my— my birthday is coming up and the ball—(CINDERELLA LOOKS TO LADY TREMAINE PLEADINGLY)

(CUTTING HER OFF) Fine. You have 5 minutes to find whatever you need and after that, we are leaving.

(HUGGING LADY TREMAINE) Thank you so much step mother! (RUNS OFF TO FABRIC STORE)

SFX: ‘Race against time’ type of music
CINDERELLA CAN BE SEEN RACING TO DIFFERENT STORES AGAINST THE CLOCK. AT THE VERY END SHE FINDS SOMETHING SO AMAZING, YOU CAN VISUALLY SEE HER EXCITEMENT. YOU CAN ALSO HEAR A LITTLE EXCITED SQUEAL COMING FROM CINDY. THE SCENE THEN SWITCHES TO CINDY GETTING BACK INTO THE CAR WITH HER STEPFAMILY.
CINDY:
(SQUEALING WITH EXCITEMENT) This is it! This is the one!!

CINDERELLA AND HER STEPFAMILY MAKE IT BACK HOME AND ARE SEEN IN THE LIVING ROOM. THE TWINS ARE ON THE COUCH, WHILE CINDERELLA IS ON THE FLOOR PERFECTING THE SKETCH FOR HER DRESS. LADY TREMAINE IS ANXIOUS AND ON EDGE.
LADY TREMAINE:
(PACING BACK AND FORTH, THE PHONE RINGS AND SHE LUNGES FOR THE PHONE) Hello?? (RESPONDING TO PERSON ON THE PHONE DURING EACH PAUSE. ANGER INCREASES WITH EACH PAUSE) Yes, I am... Exactly! What? Why? YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE A 24/7 SEAMSTRESS!! I’LL PAY YOU DOUBLE. FINE THEN, thanks for nothing! (SLAMS THE PHONE, HANGING IT UP) Cinderella, I need you to make the twin’s dresses for the ball.
CINDY:
Okay. I should be able to get them done while I am putting together my own. Will it be the usual design?
LADY TREMAINE:
Yes. The fabric is in the bags you brought in from the car. Let me know once it’s finished. (LADY TREMAINE GOES UPSTAIRS.)

A FEW DAYS HAVE PASSED AND IT IS NOW THE NIGHT BEFORE THE BALL. WE ARE IN CINDERELLA’S ROOM AND THE TWINS ARE TRYING ON THE DRESS CINDERELLA MADE. CINDY IS SEEN ADDING THE FINISHING TOUCHES AS THE TWINS JUMP AND MOVE AROUND IN THE DRESS.
DRIZELLA:
(STANDING STILL WHILE CINDY WORKS ON HER DRESS) Don’t you think it could be a little tighter here? (POINTING TO HER WAIST, PULLING THE DRESS TO TIGHTEN THE AREA)
CINDY:
Of course, good idea Driz!
